Pictures from the 1st Annual Wal-Mart car show......

These are some downright funny pictures of what people have done with their vehicles....I can guarantee you that some of these 'fixes' are seen all over the European countries.  They are very ingenious when it comes to making things work!

A day for himself

Nothing like being 'king for a day'....and today's 'king' is Doug Inman (#35) who doesn't have to share his special day with anyone else in the family.  Here's wishing you the best of birthdays, Doug!

No-o-o-o-o-o-o....we do wear clothes!

A too funny and true story...yesterday noon, the ladies from the water aerobics class (including myself) went out for lunch as a group before we all start heading back home.  Now, this group consists of all body sizes and shapes, and it also includes a wide variety of ages, with many of them in their 80s (one little thing is going to be 86 and she can move with the best of them!).  As the ladies entered the area in the restaurant set aside for the group of 20 women, it was very startling to see them all dressed up with makeup and hair done, unlike the mornings when we are all wearing bathing suits, and hair/makeup are never done,  plus a good deal of them are wearing sunglasses and visors, so you don't see much of their faces.   So, there were many conversations revolving around "gosh, I didn't recognize her with clothes on" (you have no idea how different people can look!)  So, at the end of the luncheon, a gal sitting nearby saw we wanted to take pictures, so she asked if we'd like her to snap some.  As she's getting instructed on the camera, she asked "Are you ladies part of a nudist camp?!!"  WHAT????  When we assured her we were not, she said, "Well, we heard you saying that you didn't recognize people with their clothes on so we assumed you were part of a nudist colony!"  Oh my goodness, did she even think how that would look???

From the files of 'handy tips'....

It's time to dig into the files for some odds and ends goodies....these being additional household tips to some run here quite some time ago.....

And, an anniversary....

The number may be unlucky, but Joe & Jen (Korkowski) Majhess are celebrating their 13th wedding anniversary without trepidation.  Happy anniversary to the two of you!

Parade finale....

If it's green, it's a parade entry....

A bit of glamour....

A builder's dream home?

Know these people from the back?

Gotta be careful up there...

A saloon on St. Patrick's Day??

More former beauty queens...love the really red hair!

Lots of candy was thrown...and we do mean LOTS!

Wonder if we could decorate our pontoon like this?

Felt so sorry for these guys...full uniforms, furry hats, 85 degrees...and one of the last in the parade!

John Deere...always ready for St. Paddy's Day

Had to be a great day for this place!

A cool street rod...

Old homecoming queens???

A bit of Irish dance.....

St. Patrick himself

For you car enthusiasts

All you need is a car and some Irish decor!

Or, a school bus and some decor!

Pretty girls...

...color guards in the band...

A crowd favorite that had a little problem right in front of us.....

St. Patrick's Day parade

I finally got around to downloading and editing the pictures from the annual St. Patrick's Day parade here in Naples, which Jim & Staci Korkowski had told us about...an annual tradition for them even though they live in Texas!  So, last Saturday morning, we and a trillion other people made our way downtown, and the early start had benefits, with good seating...and porta-potties... just a block away!  It was a beautiful day for the parade with lots of sunshine and 80+ degrees.  Total parade time was an hour and 40 minutes so this is no slouch of a parade; and, it's a time to see all the 'over the top' decorating on things...and people!  We think it's safe to say that many started the day bright and early with the 'green suds'!  So, since we have a few days in a row without family celebrations, I present the St. Patrick's Day parade of Naples.......
Cliff and J.P. looking for some liquid refreshments

Come early, deposit your chair...and then leave until it's time for the parade!

Success!

Staci, J.P., Cliff and Bev ready for the parade start

Always a tribute to the military....

...and a local marching band.

A local military school.....

....the 'colors' being presented...

....a bagpiper to start things out...

A pretty neat symbolic memory (see the trailer below)

It makes an impact when you see something like this!

Decorate your 'slug bug' for the festivities....

Now bring on a whole slew of kilts and bagpipes!

Little green men are everywhere!
Come back tomorrow to see more of the festivities......
