Too Much Time

Mike, I am thinking that you have way too much time on your hands.
But it did get me thinking - how cold was it in April, 1949? Theresa

Kyle's big day

Having just returned from Florida and time spent with Grandpa and Grandma Magnuson, Kyle Dupont (Brenda and Mike) is celebrating his 9th birthday today. Next year it's double digits, Kyle! He had a proud night recently at the pinewood derby at cub scouts where he won the "best crafsmanship" award. Hope you have a great birthday and welcome back to winter!!

Do you ever wonder?

Do you ever wonder what events may of have led up to the intimate moments that produced a large family like ours?
In my case, it may have been the weather. The record low temperature on this day, February 23, 1955 was -19 degrees. Nine months four days later - wala! baby brother Michael is born.  Hope you all found this as humorous as I did when I calculated the math during the evening weather report.

Stay warm!
Mike
Rosemary sent this message and  asked that we place on the Korkowski Blog.  She asked for prayers for her daughter Felicia  who will be doing her clinicals in Wisconsin the last weekend of February.  She needs to get high scores on her tests that weekend, and then it will be her board exams if all goes well.  If she passes her boards, she will be an RN.  Let's all support Felicia with our prayers and best wishes this coming weekend.

this is jennae

Sorry, I had sent a forward to all in my address book, (about knock, knock this is God) and
forgot that it would come up on the korkowskiblogspot like so. I am sorry and if you are able to delete this off of there after you know that I have all of you in my thoughts and prayers, that would be just fine with me. Hope all of you are enjoying more snowfall as it doesn't seem to want to stop near my house. Anyway, take care all.

Why we should drink wine!

To my friends who enjoy a glass of wine... and those who don't.

As Ben Franklin said:  In wine there is wisdom,  in beer there is freedom,  in water there is bacteria.

In a number of carefully controlled trials, scientists have demonstrated that if we drink 1 litre of water each day, at the end of the year we would have absorbed more than 1 kilo of Escherichia coli, (E. coli) - bacteria  found in poop. In other words, we are consuming 1 kilo of poop.

However, we do NOT run that risk when drinking wine & beer (or tequila, rum, whiskey or other liquor) because alcohol has to go through a purification process of boiling, filtering and/or fermenting.

          Remember:
          Water = Poop,
          Wine = Health.

Therefore, it's better to drink wine and talk stupid, than to drink water and be full of sh….

There is no need to thank me for this valuable  information:   I'm doing it as a public service.

Valentine's Day

Oh, this is a good day to send a Valentine to brothers and sisters,  sister in laws and brother in laws, nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews, and all other friends and family.  The pictures of Deize and family were so beautiful.  I loved the cows too...being a farmerette myself.  I am glad you had a wonderful trip.  I am sure Rick is happy to have his girls back at home.

We are having 22 Sisters here for a Valentine party today.  We will have good food that they are all bringing, conversation and a little time for prayer.  Our house is ready.

I go to the website every day.  Thanks to all family members that are sending pictures to the website.  It is such fun.  Thanks for being a wonderful family for me.  I love you all.

How beautiful!

Hi, After looking at those beautiful pictures of Brazil, we would
love to go there for a visit. Thank you, Deize, for sharing. Happy
Valentine's Day everyone. Theresa

Happy Valentines Day to you all!

Can't forget Deize's father!

We can't forget about Deize's dad who is pictured here with Deize's oldest sister and Deize.

Let's go to Brazil via Deize's pictures!

Deize and the girls just returned from a trip home to Brazil to visit her family, and since 99.99% of us will never go to Brazil, here's a little taste of what we'd see if we did! Thanks, Deize, for sharing these pictures with us.
1) Cattle on the farm
2) The farm - note the banana trees on the far right
3) Kiatta, Deize, and Deize's cousin
4) Deize's cousin, Hannah, and Deize
5) Geralda (Deize's mom), Deize, and two of Deize's aunts

Baby Update

Since babies change so fast at this age, I thought I would send some updated pictures of Courtney. Our little baby is so spoiled by her sister! Natalie does everything for her! Natalie gives her rides in her walker, picks up her toys for her, and even holds her teething ring in her mouth so poor little Courtney doesn't have to use her hands! I better tackle this problem right away :)

Nate just returned from a snowmobiling trip in Yellowstone - I thought my uncles would enjoy seeing a few pictures from his trip.

Hope everyone is well.
Andrea

Now we know where the curly Korkowski hair comes from....

There's no doubt as to where that famous (infamous?) curly, curly hair came from. is there? A great picture of (great)-grandpa John and grandma Clara Lambertz. Why was it that the man got to sit and the woman had to stand?? Zoom in on his shoes...they are quite the fashion statement and look expensive!

Be sure you know what you're ordering!

Two old farmers were looking at a Sears catalog and admiring the models. One says to the other, "Have you seen the beautiful girls in this catalog?" The second farmer replies, "Oh yes, they are very beautiful. And look at the price!" The first one says with wide eyes, "Wow, they aren't very expensive. At this price, I'm buying one." The second farmer smiles and pats him on the back. "Good idea; order one and if she's as beautiful as she is in the catalog, I'll get one too." Three weeks later, the youngest of the farmers asks his friend "Did you ever receive the girl you ordered from the Sears catalog?" The second farmer replies, "No, but it shouldn't be long now. I got her clothes yesterday!!"

Pheasant for lunch

The note below came from Dennis after he saw an eagle in his yard; unfortunately, he was dining on choice morsels!

Thought you might like to see the picture of this bad neighbor eagle. I took the picture from inside the house.  About noon today I heard the crows carrying on in our back yard so looked out to see what the commotion was all about. The crows were trying to get their share of whatever the eagle was having. From the house it looked like he was having pheasant for dinner.  I walked into the back yard and confirmed thats what he was having.  When he flew away he dropped part of the pheasant, which I have in my garage for proof.   Dennis

Ron Korkowski Day

There's sure to be celebrating going on at Ron Korkowski's house today as he celebrates his birthday (#42). Just be sure to keep the markers away from Jacob!! Happy birthday, Ron!

And the mystery boy is....

Well, we are now 99.99% sure we know who the mystery boy in the picture is....none other than Clifford Roman! I have received many emails with all of them pointing to Cliff as the boy. Paul even did a magnification of the picture and both of us noticed the "droopy eye" on the right which was very noticeable in the blowup version. When Cliff saw the picture for the very first time, he looked at it for a very long time, and then said "I think that's me" so once I got a good number of emails supporting that, we decided that's who it has to be. It's also a good reminder for all of us to label our pictures for future generations!!

Since we had such fun with the mystery boy picture, Christella has put together a photo collage of Korkowski boys which will really test your memory and ID processes. We hope you do well; let us know how well you do score-wise! Just double-click on the picture to see them better.

Party central in Rochester today!

The birthday cake will be served today down in Rochester....Lisa (Krentz) Stark (#32) is celebrating her birthday today. Tyler will surely sing mommy a great rendition of Happy Birthday!

I think this is little brother Mark

At first I thought that this was Dennis, then I noticed the hand me down belt and with Mark being last in line I figured it had to be him.
Flavia

The mystery reply from Cordy

I believe that this is my brother Dennis, because I think I recognize that shirt.  If not the shirt, the face looks very Dennisish...oh, that doesn't sound good.  You know, he has always been a responsible older brother and noticing even how the animal world is responding to him, I would lay money down that it is Dennis.  It is a very  cute picture.  Where are people getting all of these?  I will stay tuned.

Mary Lee celebrates with the ground hog

Mary Lee is going to be "queen for a day", celebrating her birthday (#53) today. No matter that she shares the day with Punxsutawney Phil, who already has seen his shadow today. (Mary Lee, you should have waited to light those candles until later today when he was down in his little home!) Happy birthday to you!

I have a guess

Hi, I think this is the Elder, Dennis, in front of the granery. I
can't identify the dog. It does not look like Spike. I also can not
identify any of the chickens. I can say that none of them are as good
looking as Ella was. Theresa

Who is this mystery child??

This is a little quiz for all of you sitting around and getting ready to watch the big game....who is this child? There seems to be a lack of identity for him (or, maybe no one wants to admit that is him!) At any rate, we'd like to know who this fellow is! You can either enter the information on the blog here, or send the identity to me at my email address. Bev
