It's a REALLY big birthday today

On this day 40 years ago, a little baby girl named Jennifer Lynn Korkowski made her way into this world, and a really hot day it was! Now it's 40 years later, and she's all grown up with a family of her own. Isn't it amazing how fast 40 years go by?? It'll be another very hot day in Florida with those 40 birthday candles burning on her cake. Happy birthday, Jen!

Don't mess around in this garden!

Word on the street....don't mess around in Ron & Sue Korkowski's garden! It seems they don't take kindly to woodchucks eating the peas before they get to them, and if any woodchuck does partake, his chances of becoming something like Davy Crockett's hat are very good indeed. Good shot!

Lila has a day of her own

After last week with multiple birthdays per day, it's a rather quiet week ahead with only a couple of birthdays, today being one of them. And one is the key word....Lila Murray, Ray & Melissa's (Korkowski) little girl, is having her first birthday today. How did that time go by so quickly? Happy birthday, Lila!

What a wonderful world in color!

Thanks to Christella for passing this along. What a difference colors can make in our world! It will take several minutes to view all the pictures, but it is well worth taking a few minutes to sit back and enjoy the music and the pictures. Enjoy...and thank God for the blessings of sight!

And, Nate Zuidema (#36) has just slightly more candles to spread over his birthday cake! He's shown here with one of his favorite "women", little Courtney. How to invest your money!

If you had purchased $1000 of shares in Delta Airlines one year ago, you will have $49.00 today.
If you had purchased $1000 of shares in AIG one year ago, you will have $33.00 today.
If you had purchased $1000 of shares in Lehman Brothers one year ago, you will have $0.00 today.
But---- if you had purchased $1000 worth of beer one year ago, drank all the beer, then turned in the aluminum cans for recycling refund, you will have received $214.00.
Based on the above, the best current investment plan is to drink heavily & recycle.
It's called the 401-Keg.

Everyone's back home...safe and sound!

Our entire family was on the move last week...Paul, Sue and kids drove out to Niagra Falls for a week; Jen, Joe and kids flew to Minnesota for two weeks; and Amy, Shawn and kids spent a week at a resort with Cliff and me. Now, all are back home and thinking about all the fun we had. Hopefully we'll get a shot of Jen, Joe and the kids enjoying the fantastic Minnesota weather in the next few days to share with you. Isn't summer grand?

Austin Joseph Roers

More details....

Susan and Kent Roers welcomed Austin Joseph Roers into their family on 7/7/09.  He weighed 7 pounds 14 ounces and was 21 inches long.  He and family are doing great.  Here are some pictures....

I'm saying Clifford

For numerous reasons I am saying this is Cliff.  Looks like a fun time.  Maybe the greeting committee at the Korkowski Hoedown should wear these.  It would definitely be a conversation starter.  Theresa

The inner child exposed!

You never know when that little inner child will rear its head, and last week that very thing happened; can you guess who it is???

Billboard in Albertville

Natalie must have really done something to impress them, because her previous daycare used her on their new billboard on 94. The picture is of her when she was about 2 years old. If you are driving by, wave to her! She's at the Albertville exit on 94 coming from the direction of Monticello.

I hope everyone is having a nice summer!

We don't want to forget her birthday....

Even though the day is coming to an end, we want to send birthday wishes to Ann O'Donnell (Al, Jr.'s wife). Not sure if they're still in Madison or not, but wherever you are, know that we send you birthday greetings. Happy birthday, Ann!

Newest Addition to the Family!

I just got this picture sent to me from Kent.  Susan had her baby this morning.  As of right now, you need to go to the hospital before you can learn if it is a girl or boy!  I'm sure there will be many more pictures and info to come!

Anything goes when you turn 5!

When your 5th birthday comes along, you really don't care who takes your picture and what is being taken....so, that being said, Happy Birthday to Isaac Oxentenko (#5) as he celebrates at a resort in the Nisswa area with his family, as well as Grandpa and Grandma Kork. The big celebration is tomorrow (Tuesday) when his godparents, Gary & Colleen Boesen, come up to make it a real celebration. Happy birthday, Isaac! (Hope you still love your grandma K. when you're 21 and see this picture!!)

Mighty big stuff for someone who's 6!!

We bet you could hear the excited voice of Evan Oxentenko all the way from the Agate Lake Resort in Nisswa today when he caught this 3 lb. 6 oz. bass! Grandpa Cliff said Evan was feeling a bit 'down' about not catching the biggest fish of the day, especially since his dad had landed a pretty nice bass himself. When daddy said 'we'll throw your line in the same spot and see what happens' and it wasn't but a minute before this big one bit, Evan was proudly singing his praises of the best fisherman of the day!!
