If you are interested in getting an iPad, I know someone who can get hold of them through a contact. These are legit, not off the back of a truck; they are from a canceled hospital contract due to the Government cutbacks.  The numbers are limited - he has twenty iPads going for less than half price so it's first come first served.  He has already sold one (pic is below so you can see what you are getting).  Get back to me as quick as you can if you want one.   Full picture is below...........keep going......

Wild and crazy shoes

"If you can dream it, you can do it" is a phrase that Walt Disney stated many years ago, and apparently, it is as true today as it was then.  Just look at these wild and crazy shoes designed by Kobi Levi, an Israelie shoe designer, who has come up with some pretty wild shoe designs.....you will NOT be seeing these in Minnesota (or most other places) any time soon....maybe never!

Thanks to daughter-in-law Sue for sending them to me; she knows of my love for shoes but even these are way too much for me!

Just so you know...

The entry below re: Leon Korkowski came from Sr. Cordy but for some reason, her name did not forward to the posting, and there seems to be no way to edit it to reflect that.  So, if you have comments re: the posting, just know that Cordy is the one who did the visiting and sent the message to the blog.

Bev
I had a  most wonderful visit with Leon Korkowski yesterday, and he asked me to send greetings to our family.  He comes for dialysis three times a week at CentraCare in St. Cloud.  He had called me a couple days ago to invite me for pie after dialysis  but I was not able to pick up the message on time.  I went today at 12:30 and we had a magnificent visit.  His kids are all home, except for one daughter because a grandson is getting married in Bloomington tomorrow.  Anyway, Leon looks great. He hopes to go to Florida in September and continue with dialysis  down there.  He has a 60-40 chance of total recovery. He said he fell when he got out of bed at night, and was unable to get up, laid there for many hours.  It was after this that he started with kidney dysfunction.   He said there is a name for what happened but he couldn't  recall it just then.
He is doing much better now.  All the nurses love waiting on him, because he is so mannerly and cooperative, talkative and grateful.  He told me that  the nursing and medical care is just top notch.  He met Felicia there several times, as she works at CentraCare now and then in that department.  The nurses love all the technology and gadgets he brings for his four hour stay.  He keeps busy.  I brought pictures of our family and the conversation never weakened for the entire time we were together.  Let's pray for complete recovery for our cousin, Leon.

Sister Cordy

School's in session...in Florida

Hurricane force winds notwithstanding, school is back in session now for almost a week down in Boca Raton Florida where mom and three kids all head out each morning for the same school.  Jennifer Majhess has gone back to teaching (3rd grade) and the three kids are all students in the same building to make life a lot easier for everyone involved.  Here they are for opening day....

Practicing for the retirement home.......

It seems their week at the resort was very tiring for this twosome (who shall remain nameless), and thus they fine-tuned the skill needed for nursing home living.....looks like they've got it down pat!

A giant paint-by-number!

Cliff is manning a Rotary booth, selling brats, in downtown Anoka this afternoon while the Lyric Arts theater is doing a giant sized paint-by-number on the side of their building.  What a nice day to be standing on ladders with paint brush in hand and also doing a bit of community building.  Be sure to click on each picture for a much better view of what's going on!

Today's 'lovebirds'......

It's been five years of marital bliss for Troy & Brandi Magnuson, and we hope they have a wonderful day to remember.  Happy anniversary, Troy & Brandi!

Hang onto that hair!

The 'boys' did have a fun time last week while vacationing in the Nisswa area, especially when Marv Koep offered them a half day of fishing; it was a good day with a mess of walleye and bass coming back for dinner that night.

Two celebrations today

Another double dip day for birthdays...we have Anna Korkowski (Paul & Sue) who turns 13 (another teenager in the family!),  and then there's Cory Stadsvold who's going to have 36 candles on his cake.  Happy birthday to the two of you!

A river OVER a river...

The Magdeburg Water Bridge is a navigable aqueduct in Germany that connects the Elbe-Havel Canal to the Mittelland Canal, and allows ships to cross over the Elbe River. At 918 meters, it is the longest navigable aqueduct in the world.

Six years, 500 million euros, 918 meters long . . . now this is engineering!  This is a channel-bridge over the River Elbe and joins the former East and West Germany.  As part of the unification project. It is located in the city of Magdeburg , near Berlin.  The photos were taken on the day of inauguration.

A bit of shock value....

It seems Europeans are always a bit ahead of us when it comes to fashion or even the things that are unusual, and these shopping bags are a great example!  Thanks, Chris, for sharing them with me.
